London / Re: inconsistent stories. [harlan]
« Last post by Harlan Bellamy on Yesterday at 08:15:33 PM »
Harlan's scowl faltered— first in his eyes, eventually his features, his mouth. Of course Charlotte had a quick-witted response to the imaginary order of protection he'd placed. He figured (and just maybe, he was hoping) that she might. "Ah, of course," Harlan nodded with eyebrows raised in something like disbelief.

He had forgotten the particular banter in Charlotte Bright's repertoire. It was... almost, refreshing.

Harlan smiled into his drink before taking a sip as he watched the witch pose her next question. Belatedly, his gaze followed over his shoulder to where she'd indicated to his group of friends— a very few close, the majority acquaintances. Harlan was notorious for keeping a close circle.

"What, like I'd get in trouble?" He didn't have to speak to the irony that the very woman adjacent to him had penned a handful of articles about him, detailing just how he could get himself into trouble. Harlan chuckled, setting down his mug.

"I've been well, busy," He nodded more honestly, then. "Keeping my head down with training, really," He shrugged a shoulder. It was not secret that Harlan had laid low that Summer. Aside from the things Madeline had roped him into, it had been the lowest profile he'd ever held for so long.

Part of him thought the first time he stepped out in the public they might not recognize him. Unfortunately, he was wrong. "And yourself? Keeping quiet too, it seems," He half-smiled.

Wales / Love is our resistance [Rosaline & wedding guests]
« Last post by Christoph Klein on March 27, 2024, 11:17:52 PM »
Isle of Mordred, Wales | October 22, 2005

Despite the ceremony being far from the traditional Catholic wedding Christoph had been used to, the former Drakonya Krov was all smiles as he escorted his new bride into the ballroom for the reception. Stealing a knowing glance at his Best Man, Christoph felt strangely at peace to finally be there. Engel had known his feelings for Rosa long before Christoph knew them himself, and yet even after knowing those feelings—he never really thought he would make it with her to the aisle. He thought fully that he would be stuck in a loveless marriage to Leona Layton, too yellow to kill her, but too angry to let her go.

In some ways, he was still angry that Luther Layton lived… but that was not a thought that he wanted to dwell on tonight. He did not want any memory of his previous wedding, however recent it was in his mind. More than anything, the miserable wedding incident had cemented his love for Rosaline even more. He had known he loved her after that, and had felt stuck in his new vows. He had never expected to be a divorced man, to be a man who had an affair—but those days were over now, and he felt more like himself than ever before.

After dinner, as he danced with his new bride to a flamenco similar (but not the same) as the one he danced to with Leona, he let his mind settle on her and her alone. While there were guests all around them in her home, including her and his parents, several cousins and friends, he only saw his beautiful wife glowing in the fairy lights. He felt his heart swell largely as he gripped her close to his chest. He kissed her at the end of the dance before departing the floor and heading up to the table again. He let her go for what felt like the first time since their wedding kiss and could feel the cold air where his hand had been linked with hers. He needed to let her have some time with her friends and family now, and would have time to go back to her in just a little bit.

Christoph was pleased to see his family again. After so long away, being a stranger, he felt secure enough now to invite them back into a life more peaceful but just as private. He kissed his mother on the cheek, shook his father’s hand, and looked for his brother—both the blood brother and the one he had chosen his very first year at Durmstrang, Engel.

He stole another glace at Rosaline before the second round of dances began. Christoph waltzed with his mother while Rosaline danced with her half-brother, Lorcan, who was acting very much as a stand-in for Rosaline’s father throughout the whole ordeal. He had been the one to walk her down the aisle, and Christoph had grown quite fond of his antics throughout the past year. Lorcan was okay. With the official ceremonial dances out of the way, Christoph crossed the floor to greet his wife once more, and save her from interacting with her bridesmaid, Lorin’s, date.

“May I steal Rosa for a moment?” He asked politely, but he did not wait for a response before scooping her. He grinned at her playfully as he led her towards the open bar. He asked the bartender for two whiskeys on ice, and offered one to his wife. “Mrs. Klein.” He teased. “You can thank me for saving you, later.” He joked. He clinked glasses. “To us, new beginnings, and a full life together.”

Customer Name: Nova Curtis
Personality Keys: free spirit, creative, honest, spontaneous

Since you are from New Jersey, I will assume you are buying a wand from one of the American wandmakers instead of me, and will only give you the combinations, not a wand box number.
  • Your Perfectly Matched Wand, if available at your wandmaker, would be 28.16 cm (11.09 in), amboyna and ivory demiguise hair.
Most efficacious when used casting Charms, possessing a particular knack for concealment magic. Never casts a charm, hex, or spell the same way twice.
(Core: Cryptopithicos eburneus ★★☆; Wood: Pterocarpus indicus ★★☆)
  • More likely for your region, you would pair well (82%) with a 28.38 (11.17 in), showy mountain-ash and Tanasi wampus hair wand.
Agile, graceful, and reflexive, best suited for duelling and Charm casting. Produces powerful, hard-to-break Defensive Charms; not suited to Dark Arts.
(Core: Pima montanus ★★☆; Wood: Sorbus decora ★★★)
  • If you want a Supremes-only wand, your best match (74%) will be 27.88 cm (10.98 in), butternut and Hebridean Black heartstring.
Quickly and easily learns spells, though prone to spellcasting accidents. Suitable for a broad range of spells. Unusually versatile and notably adaptable.
(Core: Dracona nigrum ★★★★; Wood: Juglans cinerea ★★★★)

Am I really the first one using this? 🤔

Customer Name: Nova Curtis

Country and State/Province/Region:
Morristown, New Jersey, USA
Personality Keys:
free spirit, creative, honest, spontaneous
Age: 15 years + 8 months
Height: 175 cm

What's better: seeing how someone else does things even if they're wrong, or sticking with your way of doing things because you know it's right?
" I always do things the way I think is right and won't rely on other people's opinions on how they should be done."
What sort of spellcasting is easier: hard stops and sharp angles, or frills and imprecise curves? "difficult question. probably the frills and imprecise curves"
You are practicing spells when you see two brooms careening out of control towards you. One has an underage wizard on it, the other an elderly witch. What do you do FIRST?
"First... hmm... First I think of the correct spell to stop the brooms, but I suppose that's not quite the question. The underage wizard doesn't yet have the experience to save himself, I guess we cannot rely on an accidental sign of magic saving him. So, I'd save him first and then try to help the elderly witch who is probably in a more vulnerable state than the boy."
